11:40 a.m. | Break out #1: Social Media

  • Old School vs. New School: In this session we will have the speakers discuss how to blend old techniques with the new social media trends to make a more polished professional. | DAN FARKAS & NATE RIGGS
  • Staying Ahead of the Trends — branding yourself:  For this session we will invite digital communicators to teach attendees the ins and outs of new social media trends. It’s great to understand current mediums, but being able to anticipate trends before they start is essential. | ED BURGHARD

2: 00 p.m. | Break out #2: Crisis Management

  • Being a great leader during a crisis. We invited our Leadership Center to team up with a professional to break down the importance of leadership in a crisis situation. The speakers have been asked to create an interactive activity and presentation to demonstrate the correct ways a good leader should respond in intense situations. — OHIO UNIVERSITY LEADERSHIP CENTER
  • Handling a crisis you created vs. your client created. This session will show our attendees the difference between handling a crisis situation a client brings to your agency vs. how to handle a crisis situation you accidentally caused for you client. — RICHARD BATYKO, President, Regional Marketing Alliance of Northeast Ohio (Cleveland Plus)

3:10 p.m. – Break out #3: #PostGradPRoblems

  • Office Etiquette – how to act during your internship. — OHIO UNIVERSITY CAREER SERVICES
  • I’m about to graduate – now what? — DEMI CLARK

4:20 p.m. – Networking/Opportunities Fair

After the last breakout session we will invite our attendees to join us in the Grover Hall Atrium to partake in a mini “career fair” and networking event. We have decided to set up tables where professionals from different companies will sit around the room. The students will have the chance to visit all the tables and ask the professionals any questions they may have. Attendees can use this time to have their resume critiqued, to ask for interview help or to simply network for summer positions. We have finished inviting local companies and are working on creating signs for them.
